Charle's Law

Description: Charle's Law, also known as the law of volume-temperature proportionality, states that the volume of a gas is directly proportional to its temperature, assuming the pressure and amount of gas remains constant. This law is named after Jacques Charles, a French physicist, who formulated the principle in the late 18th century.

Sample Sentences:

  • According to Charle's Law, if the temperature of a gas doubles, its volume will also double, as long as the pressure and amount of gas remain constant.
  • Charle's Law can be observed when inflating a balloon: as the balloon is heated, its volume increases.
  • To understand Charle's Law better, students conducted experiments in the chemistry lab by varying the temperature while measuring the volume of different gases.
